Sally Hansen's Fanta-sea

In my Violet Vox Box from Influenster, I got this pretty nail polish.  It is the Sally Hansen Triple Shine nail polish in the color Fanta-Sea.  #tripleshine.

It has a good formula and the brush is VERY wide.  It worked well with the glitter.  I used three coats since I just used this polish on it's own.  I think 2 coats would look good over an opaque polish.  The glitter is small, but it sure is pretty and shimmery.  I cannot vouch for the 'shine' that this polish claims because it is glitter and it is already shiny on it's own.  I think with a non-glitter, the shine effect would be easier to see.  Overall, I'm happy to add this to my collection.   I might have to wear this for New Years Eve tonight!

Have you tried any polishes from this line?  What do you think?

Essie's Naughty Nautical Collection

For my birthday last week, I got a few of the Essie Summer 2013 Naughty Nautical collection.  Here are two of them that I am currently wearing.  These are almost kind of jelly-like polishes with a bit of silver/grey shimmer.  I really love the collection as a whole, but there where a few I probably wouldn't wear myself.

The coral color is Sunday Funday and the teal one I used for my accent nail is Naughty Nautical.  These are not fully opaque, but not quite sheer.  That's why I said they are almost a little jelly like.  I used two coats and the formula was great.

Here are some pictures in natural light and in the direct sun light.

Julep - Lena

I just LOVE this color!  I think I'll be wearing it a lot on my toes this summer.  It is Lena from Julep.  This polish is incredibly opaque and really only needs one coat. It is a little thick, but it goes on nicely and cleans up well.  Lena is a gorgeous teal color with a little golden sheen to it.  I used Zoya's Jules and Orly's Halo for an accent nail.

Teal Mix n' Match Manicure

I decided to try something a little more adventurous lately.  Being on Spring Break, I have some extra time on my hands, so I get to try things I normally wouldn't.  I used China Glaze's "Luxe & Lush" and "Re-Fresh Mint", Essie's "Penny Talk", and Julep's "Lena" for this look.  I used two coats for each color except "Lena" where I only needed one.  Julep polishes have amazing opacity!  Enjoy!

Let me know of any fun manicure's you've tried lately.  Leave me a link to your blog post if you did one on it.  :)

April 2013 - Julep Maven

April's Julep Maven box was themed 'The Brights' with some pretty intensely bright colors.  I was happy with the two colors I received.

My two 'brights' I got were Kaylen which is a bright orange and Lena which is a shimmery teal.  I wouldn't quite call either one neon but they are bold and fun for spring and summer.  Kaylen is more creamy and a solid color.  Lena is GORGEOUS!  I cannot wait to get this on my toes!  :)  It is my favorite color, but it has this amazing shimmer in it.

The extra item this month was "Mighty" nail and cuticle serum.  It is supposed to help dry and damaged cuticles overnight.  It has a twist brush applicator which is nice.  I haven't used it yet because I'm still using my Julep cuticle oil I got in my first box over a year and a half ago.  That stuff lasts FOREVER!  Amazing.

Also included was this cute little rock candy.  I don't think it is flavored, but if it is, I'll be happy.  I'm not big on just eating sugar flavored sugar.  Fun addition.

What is your favorite 'bright' polish?

Holographic Teal Combo

I recently got Butter London's Henley Regatta in a gift set and I've wanted to use it, but never found the right time.  I picked out Zoya's Zuza to paint my nails with and as I got done with my second coat, I quickly grabbed Henley Regatta.  I was just going to use it for an accent nail, but I loved it so much, I used it all all 10.  :)  I used two coats of Zoya's Zuza which is an silvery/pearly iridescent teal and two coats of Henley Regatta which is a teal/green/blue glitter by Butter London.  I LOVE the way this sparkles in the sun.  It reminds me of a mermaid's tail.  I can't wait to wear this combo more in the Spring!

What are your favorite combos?
